  The UN Thing - A Blatant Lie!!

  it occured to me that the wt are always saying the importance of telling the truth in all matters, yet their un membership of the dpi constituted a blatant lie to the same body as well as to their members.. for an organisation that prides itself on telling the truth, and how it really is, recently, that is, one could say that they have not exactly a very clean, perfect slate.

  how are they / can they live with this, as this action on their behalf violates their very own pillars of structure?

  i just read the tragic story of the man in chicago who beat his daughter to death.

  i have read stories here and on silentlambs about sexual abuse.. my question is: how much fault can be placed on the religion and how much on the perversions of a particular individual?

  i frankly don't know the answer to this question.

  I think it is completely appropriate to judge the WTS using the same criteria it uses when pronouncing judgements against Christendom.

  When a non JW commits an offense, the WTS wastes no time reminding its thrall that "by their fruits you will know them."

  What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Hoist them by their own petard. The WTS has FAILED to be a force for good in the lives of those of its memnbers who need it most. Where did the killer parents get their wacked-out ideas? Where did the father discover the template that turned him into a tyrant to his own offspring?

  The blame falls to both the individuals AND to the so-called "moral authority" that guided and directed their spritual development.

  her father, larry slack, then repeatedly hit the child with an inch-thick section of rubberized electrical cable filled with strands of wire, police said.

  Hi Kent,

  You know I'm no apologist for the WTS, but I was wondering if the word "Biblical" in the subject line here should be in quotes. The reason? I'm not sure the bible reccommends 117 strokes as punishment. If it does, I'd like to see a reference to this "3(40 - 1)" punishment scheme. I would also like to emphasize that the homicidal parents didn't use a simple electrical "wire," but a length of very heavy electrical cable (reportedly one inch (25 mm) thick) the cable itself probably weighed several pounds - much heavier than an electrical appliance cord or even a whip. The impact of such a heavy mass on this poor girl's body 117 times caused internal damage - it pulverized her.

  While a "Biblical" punishment for the parents might be something our outrage demands, we can trust that the secular court will be more humane than these idiot paents ever thought to be.

  bibles is a map, and in the map is a drawing of a dinosaur.. does anyone know why the dinosaur is there?.
